Medical Disclaimer

The limits of the information on this site, and what to do if you need medical help.

General information only

The content on Breethecloud is general information about lung health and everyday breathing. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Reading this site does not create a doctor-patient relationship.

If you have a medical concern, contact a clinician who knows your situation. If you are unsure whether something is urgent, err on the side of seeking advice.

Emergencies

This site is not designed to handle medical emergencies and does not monitor messages for urgent content. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately. In the United States, that number is 911. In other countries, use the local emergency number.

Do not stop treatment

Do not start, stop, or change any prescribed treatment — including medicines, oxygen therapy, or rehabilitation — on the basis of something you have read on this site. Decisions about treatment belong in a conversation with your care team.

If you are concerned about a treatment you are receiving, raise it with the clinician who prescribed it. If you are unable to reach them and your symptoms are worsening, seek urgent care.

Research and evidence

Where we cite research, we try to distinguish between different types of evidence:

Type What it means
Clinical guidance Recommendations from professional bodies based on a review of evidence.
Randomized controlled trials Studies designed to test whether an intervention causes an effect.
Observational studies Studies that describe associations, not causation.
Laboratory findings Results from cells or animals, which may not apply to humans.
Hypotheses Proposed explanations that have not yet been confirmed.

Not every claim on this site is supported by the same strength of evidence. Where evidence is limited or mixed, we say so.

Supplements

Dietary supplements are regulated differently from prescription medicines in many countries. Evidence for many supplement claims is limited or mixed, and some supplements can interact with prescription medicines. We do not present supplements as approved treatments for COPD or any other condition. If you are considering a supplement, discuss it with your care team before starting.

For more detail, see our article Supplements and Prescriptions.

Individual differences

Responses to conditions, treatments, and environments vary. What helps one person may not help another, and what is safe for one person may not be safe for another. General information on this site cannot account for your individual medical history, medications, or circumstances.

For related information, see our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

Contact

Questions about this disclaimer can be directed to the contact address listed on our Contact page. This address is not monitored for medical emergencies.

Note. A general disclaimer does not correct an inaccurate claim. If you believe a statement on this site is misleading, please let us know through the contact page.

Product reviews and publisher

Our product reviews may contain affiliate links. Research on individual ingredients does not establish that the finished product produces the same effects. The LungExpand Pro review is based on source materials, without personal-use testing or a documented clinician review. JA PRIVATE LTD publishes this site and is separate from product sellers. Product support is listed on the review; publisher details appear on our Contact page.
